(April 4, 2017) — An exciting season of senior hockey came to a close this past weekend with the Avalon East Senior Hockey League’s own Harbour Grace Ocean Enterprises CeeBee Stars crowned as Herder Memorial Trophy champions. The AESHL executive wishes to congratulate the entire CeeBees organization — players, coaches, executive, volunteers and their passionate fans — for representing the league with class, dignity and an incredible effort throughout the regular season, playoffs and provincial senior A final. That the organization was able to make such an incredible turnaround from one season to the next and cap it off by claiming a coveted Herder title is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all involved. The Clarenville Caribous also warrant sincere congratulations for their regular season, a return to the Central West Senior Hockey League champion status and for offering the CeeBees and senior hockey fans across the province an unforgettable and hard-fought Herder final. The AESHL also wishes the best of luck to the members of the Caribous joining the Grand Fall-Windsor Cataracts for next week’s Allan Cup national senior men’s hockey championship in Bouctouche, N.B. — Jason Churchill, Ryan Desrosiers, Brandon Roach and Stuart Macrae. We look forward to celebrating another Allan Cup win for a senior hockey club from our province.
