Breakers draw even in semifinal against the Eagles

(Feb. 12, 2017) -- Ben Goss stopped 39 of 40 shots as the Puglisevich Southern Shore Breakers edged the Tapper's Northeast Eagles 2-1 in Game 4 of the teams' Avalon East Senior Hockey League semifinal series Sunday night. At the Southern Shore Arena, Cory Blackmore's second-period tally from Ray Dalton and Morgan Warren stood as the winner as the Breakers' tied the series at two games apiece. Dalton, assisted by Warren, opened the scoring in the first period. Chris Thorne replied for the Eagles and Mark Yetman made 42 saves. Game 5 in the best-of-seven series goes next Friday, 8 p.m., at the Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay. On Monday, the Harbour Grace Ocean Enterprises CeeBee Stars take a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 of their best-of-seven semi against the St. John's Green Sleeves Caps at the Goulds Sports Arena.
