Mooney leads Eagles over Breakers

(Jan. 22, 2017) -- After two days of weather-related delays, the Avalon East Senior Hockey League managed to get a regularly scheduled game in the books Sunday night as the Tapper's Northeast Eagles downed the Puglisevich Southern Shore Breakers 5-2. At the Southern Shore Arena in Mobile, Chris Mooney led the Eagles' (11-7-3, 25 pts) attack with two goals and a helper, Andrew White tallied once and had two assists, Chris Sparkes had one and one, and Chris Thorne potted an empty-netter. Mark Yetman stopped 37 shots. Ray Dalton and Dylan Sheldon replied for the Breakers (12-10-1, 25 pts) with each drawing an assist on each other's goal. Ben Goss faced 41 shots. On Monday, the Hickman Chrysler Bell Island Blues visit the St. John's Green Sleeves Caps at the Goulds Sports Arena. Game time is 8:30 p.m.
