Breakers keep winning streak alive
news • 2016-11-27 (Nov. 27, 2016) -- The Puglisevich Southern Shore Breakers made it five straight wins Sunday night, defeating the St. John's Green Sleeves Caps 3-1 in the teams' Avalon East Senior Hockey League game.
At the Southern Shore Arena, Shane Boland, Blair Ezekiel and Jeremy Nicholas scored for the Breakers (8-4-0, 16 pts). Ben Goss stopped 48 of 49 shots, with Brandon Fewer taking away his attempt at a shutout late in the final frame.
Kyle Downer had 32 saves in net for the Caps (4-5-2, 10 pts).
The Caps return to action Monday night, 8:30 p.m., when they welcome the Tapper's Northeast Eagles (3-5-2, 8 pts) to the Goulds Sports Arena.
